The Montana Overland Research Foundation seeks to improve the performance and well-being of individuals working in the military, law enforcement, firefighting, medical, and rescue communities. Our laboratory and field-based research programs, combined with the specialized training and general education courses we provide, are aimed at improving individual performance and reducing the risk of injury. The information gleaned from our research in such areas as physiology, biomechanics, ergonomics, load-bearing, overland movement techniques, and environmental adaptation strategies, will inform not only our own training and coursework, but will also be disseminated to other professionals working in these areas in an effort to effect positive modifications to equipment, training, health care and rehabilitation.
